Trust and safety: how Chipmo AI protects your business and your customers

An AI answering your phone has to be careful. Here's how we design it to stay honest, safe and under your control.

Prices

You set the prices.

You approve the price ranges and the line between simple and complex jobs in writing before we go live.

Ranges, not promises.

The AI gives ranges only. The one exception is a simple fixed-price job you've approved in writing. It is designed to stay inside your range; anything else is booked as an estimate or sent to you.

Urgent calls

Urgent calls are designed to go to a person.

Calls about a gas smell, flooding, electrical burning smells or sparks, or no heat in dangerous cold are designed to go to you or a backup you name right away. For life-safety emergencies the AI is designed to tell the caller to call 911 or the gas utility's emergency line first.

Honesty

It's honest about being an AI.

The assistant is designed to say it's an AI virtual assistant when asked, and up front where a state requires it. It is not meant to pretend to be a person.

We answer; we don't cold-call.

Chipmo AI answers calls that come in to your business. It doesn't make cold calls or send promotional blasts. Texts go only to callers who said yes to texts.

Texting and consent

It asks before it texts.

Texting isn't switched on yet. Once it is, the AI will ask the caller on the call if they'd like text confirmations and updates, and log the answer. A "no" means no texts. A caller who never said yes gets no texts at all, including after a missed call.

Texts stay on topic.

Once texting is switched on, texts will cover the caller's own job: confirmations, reminders, quote check-ins and review requests. All of them go only to people who said yes.

STOP is designed to work right away.

Replying STOP, or plainly saying "no more texts", is designed to end texts right away, and the opt-out is recorded. Message and data rates may apply.

Every message says who it's from.

Texts clearly name your business.

Allowed hours only.

No texts outside allowed hours: about 9 AM to 8 PM in the recipient's local time, with stricter state rules where they apply.

You approve the wording.

You approve every message template and every price range before anything goes out.

Recording

Recording notice.

If calls are recorded, the setup is designed to play a short notice at the start of the call.

Records kept.

Each consent and opt-out is saved with a timestamp and where it came from.

Your data

Selling data

We don't sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with service providers that help run the service, and only so they can provide that service.

Each client's data is kept separate.

Your customers' information is designed to stay separate. It is not shared with or used for another business.

You can see everything.

Transcripts, bookings and texts are visible to you.

You stay licensed and in charge.

The AI is designed not to claim work you aren't licensed or insured for.

Monitoring

We check in regularly.

Our team sets it up, checks on it regularly and sends a weekly report.

  1. On an answered call

After helping with the caller's question, the AI asks something like: "Want me to text you a confirmation and any updates on your quote? You can reply STOP anytime." We log the answer and the time.

  2. If a call is missed

Once texting is switched on, a caller who already said yes to texts will be able to get one text about their call, for example: "[Your business]: Sorry we missed you, how can we help? Reply STOP to opt out. Msg & data rates may apply." A caller who never said yes gets no text.

  3. After that

Once texting is switched on, reminders, quote check-ins and review requests will go only to people who said yes. Reply STOP and they are designed to end right away.

Texting isn't switched on yet; these steps describe how it will work once it is. Example wording is illustrative; each client approves its own templates.

Rules for calls and texts vary by state. We build these protections into every setup and go over them with each client. If you have a legal question about your business, please talk to your own attorney.
